  • Comments Off on Lahore to Karachi Cargo: Transit Times, Costs & the Best Shipping Options
FTL Service

The Lahore–Karachi corridor is the busiest freight route in Pakistan, linking the country’s manufacturing heartland to its largest port and commercial hub. Whether you are moving raw materials south or finished goods north, here is what to expect on cost, speed and service.

Transit times you can plan around

Road transport covers the roughly 1,200 km between the two cities via the M-2/M-5 motorway network. As a planning guide:

  • Express / dedicated truck: 1–2 days
  • Standard road freight: 2–3 days
  • Shared-load / economy: 3–4 days, depending on consolidation

Exact timing depends on loading schedules, weather and whether your shipment travels on a dedicated or shared vehicle.

What drives the cost?

The main levers are weight and volume, truck type, and whether you book a full truckload or share space. A full 22-ft container to yourself costs more than a partial load, but delivers faster and with less handling — which matters for fragile or high-value goods. Fuel prices and seasonal demand (for example around Eid or harvest season) also move rates.

Choosing the right option
  • Full Truckload (FTL) — best for bulk, pallets or time-sensitive stock. One dedicated truck, direct route, minimal handling. See FTL Services.
  • Ground Express — best when speed matters most for urgent consignments. See Ground Express Services.
  • Door-to-door — best when you want pickup and delivery handled end to end without visiting a terminal. See Door-to-Door Delivery.
Tips for a smooth Lahore–Karachi shipment
  1. Book ahead during peak seasons to lock in capacity and rate.
  2. Pack and label clearly to avoid mishandling at consolidation points.
  3. Insure high-value cargo — it is inexpensive relative to the risk.
  4. Use a provider with real-time tracking so you always know where your goods are.

Lasani Logistics runs the Lahore–Karachi corridor regularly with tracked, insured shipments. Get a route-specific quote or track an existing shipment.
